Meine Rente – the app that funds my retirement
Questions, problems, or a quote that absolutely has to go into the app? Write straight to support@meine-renten.app – behind this app is a single developer, not a hotline. You'll usually hear back within two working days. Unless I've already retired. Then it may take a little longer.
Touch and hold an empty spot on the Home Screen until the icons jiggle. Tap “Edit” in the top left → “Add Widget” (on older iOS versions: the “+”), search for “Meine Rente”, pick a size and tap “Add Widget”. The widget shows the quote of the day and changes automatically at midnight.
Yes. Touch and hold the Lock Screen → “Customise” → Lock Screen → tap the area below the clock → choose “Meine Rente”. There the quote appears plainly in black and white.
iOS refreshes widgets on its own schedule, usually within a few minutes after midnight. If waiting doesn't help: open the app once, or remove the widget and add it again.
The app follows your device language (English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese; every other language gets English). If you'd like the app in a different language than your system: iOS Settings → Apps → Meine Rente → Language.
That's on purpose. The quote of the day is calculated from the date – everyone worldwide sees the same quote on the same day, each in their own language. The dice button “Another one” gives you bonus quotes whenever you want.
No. Meine Rente is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple ID. Simply download the app again from the App Store – with the same Apple ID it's free. The same goes for your iPad.
Purchases and refunds are handled exclusively by Apple – I see neither payment details nor names. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. My deck chair will survive it.
The collection grows with the ideas of the people who use the app. Send me your quote – if it's good, it'll land in one of the next updates. With thanks, but without a fee. It is, after all, a pension app.
